Publishing in Indexed Journals: Pathways, Challenges and Insights
It was a privilege to deliver the Inaugural Address at the SRC Research Colloquium, a Virtual International Seminar organized by the General Library and the Department of Hospital Administration at Seethalakshmi Ramaswami College, affiliated with Bharathidasan University. My talk, titled “Publishing in Indexed Journals: Pathways, Challenges and Insights,” focused on guiding researchers through the evolving landscape of scholarly communication.

In today’s academic environment, publishing in indexed journals is not just a requirement but a crucial step toward ensuring research visibility, credibility, and impact. During the session, I discussed key pathways to identify suitable journals, the importance of understanding indexing databases, and strategies to maintain research integrity.
I also highlighted common challenges faced by researchers, including selecting the right journal, avoiding predatory publishers, managing publication timelines, and adhering to ethical standards. Emphasis was placed on the role of careful planning, quality writing, and awareness of journal guidelines in achieving successful publication outcomes.
The session concluded with practical insights and tools that researchers can use to enhance their publication journey. Engaging with such academic forums reinforces the importance of knowledge sharing and continuous learning in strengthening the research ecosystem.

I extend my sincere thanks to the organizers for the opportunity to be part of this enriching academic event.
